Lilium davidii is a native of Sichuan and Yunnan. It grows up to 1.5m high, and bears up to about 20 flowers, unscented, Turks-cap shaped, orange or reddish orange, from July to August. The bulb is edible and sometimes stoloniferous. It is a stem-rooting lily (adventitious roots emerging above the bulb).
