Lilium superbum is a species of true lily native to the eastern and central regions of North America. It may be called the swamp lily or American tiger lily.
Etymology
It is one of the Turks-cap lilies, this naming coming from the reflexed shape of the flower petals.
Growth
It grows up to 2.5 meters high, with up to 40 flowers on each stem. The flowers vary in colour from yellow to orange, with red petal tips and reddish brown markings, with a green base. It is capable of growing in wet conditions.
